First and foremost, we at Libertyville Savings Bank want to say thank you. Thank you to the customers that have trusted us with their banking relationships over the last 120 years. Thank you to the LSB family.
There have been many wonderful members throughout the years as well as the excellent team we currently have. We are incredibly proud to say that we are a seven-year-running top Iowa workplace! Our team is amazing, and this huge milestone wouldn’t be possible without their dedication to service. Finally, thank you to the communities that have welcomed us. It is truly a pleasure to serve you.
Established June 8, 1901, in Libertyville, Iowa, the bank has grown while writing a proud history. Many of the ways we do business have changed, but we have always kept true to our promise of integrity and trust. In February 1996. the bank moved its charter from the original Libertyville site to a new headquarters in Fairfield. The next year, we opened an additional office in Eldon, and in 2007, we opened in Keosauqua. LSB embarked on new territory in 2014 with the purchase of Farmers Savings Bank in Keota followed by the 2019 purchase of Farmers and Traders in Douds.
Being a local bank means we are connected on many levels to the communities that we serve. Our staff reside in these communities, their kids go to the schools and are involved in sports, 4-H and the fine arts. We are involved in committees and sit on boards of groups that strive to better our little towns.
We feel it’s important to give back. Our employees volunteer over 660 hours of their time with fantastic organizations, at our local school activities, civic events, county fairs and community celebrations. In addition to time volunteered, we average $100,000 or more in monetary donations each year.
We have been interviewing long-time customers as well as current and past long-time employees about what they think contributes to the longevity and success of the bank over the last 120 years. The stories that have come in are heartwarming and bring smiles to our faces. One common theme we see over and over is “family.” Whether you bank at LSB or work at LSB, it feels like family. We are honored and believe there is no greater compliment. Cheers to the last 120 years as well as the next 120 years.
